Keep the Holiday Alive

By February, most of us are well and truly out of holiday mode and forced back into reality. The kids are back to school, extended Christmas holidays are over and now it’s back to the daily rush and the usual stress associated with it.

If that’s you and you’d rather go back to holiday mode, this episode is one you won’t want to miss.

Today I share with you how to keep the holiday alive long after the holiday is over and…

… how you can wake up excited about your day instead of it feeling like a massive mental slog.

I don’t want you to experience holiday blues I want to bring back that feeling of relaxation and loving your day. When we come back from a holiday we synch back into our old habits of work because of the anchors that we have that specify we are not on holidays.

In this episode, I talk all about anchoring and how these neurological stimulated connections can be used to trigger us into holiday mode or out of holiday mode.

I talk about ways you can establish anchors in your everyday life to relive the feeling of holidays and why it’s so important to do this for your entire body, mind and spirit.

These anchors like the things we see, smell, wear, certain tastes bring back a certain feeling when we return home. When we go on holidays we create new anchors, like going for walks, eating by candlelight or reading a different type of book. So if you feel really good when you are on holidays, ask yourself why. Start thinking about the things you do on holidays that are the anchors to bring those feelings into your life.

On holidays you give ourselves time to breath, think, relax and exercise and these are the times when solutions come to you. When you are home give yourself space to do these things too.

Sometimes we create our own mental cage and we anchor it by the things we have around us.

Here are some suggestions:

  1. Remove some of the negative anchors

  2. Look for things that make you feel alive when you are on holidays

  3. Pick one or two of these things

  4. Implement them today. Something like changing out of your work clothes when you get home or having a candle lit dinner.

Get yourself a nice beverage and comfy chair for this one. Let’s keep that holiday alive.
