Are You a Traffic Wimp?

I used to cry in Sydney Traffic. Literally. It was overwhelming, intimidating, and if you took a wrong turn, you could get lost for hours if you didn’t have a street directory. It was always a tense experience growing up and driving into the city.

Nowadays, I can confidently say, I am not afraid of getting lost, or taking a risk. But, it took a whooole lotta practise.

Today’s video will help you recognise what kind of traffic dweller you are, and what it means for your life. How you do one thing really is how you do everything.

Here is the content from the video.

I was driving through Sydney last week over the bridge, and right before you turn onto the freeway to go to the Harbour Bridge in Sydney, there's this like bottleneck of traffic, and we were sitting there completely stuck. Now, for those of you who don't know Sydney or have never been here. It wasn't exactly planned it was more like slotted onto the map.

The roads go everywhere the lanes overlap the speeds change, it's actually quite overwhelming if you don't drive here very often. However, I'm sure what I'm about to say can relate to everyone who's watching, so I'm sitting in this lane just going nowhere and I'm quite impatient when it comes to traffic because I normally don't have to drive in it, and I was thinking to myself, if we keep going at this snail pace, I'm going to run late, so I look across the lane, beside me, and it's just going really, really fast. So why is that lane going on these lane isn't.

Oh well, I will turn into that lane, and right before I pulled in. I caught myself hesitating and I had this moment of -oh but what if it takes me somewhere that I don't want to go, what if it takes me somewhere where I can't turn around, and I ended up going into the lane, but I did catch myself having a little bit of panic.

As I drove down the road about 100 meters, I realized there was no reason to traffic had stopped there was absolutely nothing wrong, it was just that everyone was lined up.

In the same lane to go to the same place and as I drove past I was like suckkerrs!

How often does these happen in your life, you sit around waiting for our turn waiting in line waiting until we have more money or more time or just because that's what everyone else is doing and that's what you're supposed to do, wishing we could change lanes and too scared to change lanes, but at the same time wishing that the traffic would go a little faster.

Sometimes when life speeds up, it can actually be a little bit scary, we're not used to things, all these good things happening all at once. I mean we can sit around and say what needs to go faster we can say we want more to happen, but really when it comes to the crunch. When it does start speeding up we often don't take the opportunities, rather, we start focusing on what if it goes wrong, what if this and what if that.

So my questions to you today is,

  1. Where in life are you waiting in line?

  2. Where are you not stepping up?

  3. What's the fast lane for you and what is stopping you from taking it?

Do what you need to do to get in the fast lane, find the people who can help you, and ask them to help you. There's no point waiting anymore. Sometimes you're waiting for nothing.
