What Surfing has Taught me about Life - Part 2

This is week 2 of my “Lessons from the Wave” series. I am really enjoying these videos, and I have a feeling it may be more than a 3 part series at some stage, but for now, I hope you enjoy.

If you missed last week, you can find it here: What Surfing has Taught me about Life - Part 1

Today’s lesson is a big fat metaphor. I have found so many metaphors in the waves that are so necessary and pleasant to apply for life. There’s something special about a big block of nature heading towards you that you can literally go through, under, around, and over, that can both kill you and give you a high, that brings people together and separates people over long distances. The ocean is amazing.

Something I always teach in my workshops, is that how you do one thing is how you do everything. So, whether you’re a surfer or not, this metaphor can apply anywhere. Business, life, relationships, health… everywhere you might want to go bigger.

We have to put ourselves where the waves are coming in strong and not sit on the fringe. You need to be front and center to catch the next wave with ease. Then you can get on it easier and ride it longer. Stop saying that fun is for someone else. Meet the waves head on.

Don’t forget to leave a comment below the video telling me what your “big waves” are. Taking this little action holds you accountable to the universe, and lights a little fire up under your butt. Give it a go!

Stay Curious, Stay open. The life you crave is so much closer than you think.

Love, Hayley xx
